The Care Collection aims to exceed our Clients’ expectations by delivering a high quality, client focused, personalised approach to care delivery. To achieve this we only recruit exceptional people who demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to quality.
We rigorously screen and scrutinise our Carers to ensure their suitability for the role. This includes telephone interviews, face-to-face interviews, reference checks and an Enhanced Criminal Record Check.
We ensure that our Carers have a positive “can do” outlook on life and always wear a smile. Only those with a good nature, who are caring, professional and empathetic are selected to join our team.
Highly trained Carers
Prior to starting at The Care Collection, our Carers must undertake a highly developed training programme that has been skilfully created to guarantee excellence.
We have strong links with local colleges and training providers and actively encourage our Carers to become experts in supporting more complex care needs, such as Dementia, Parkinson’s and Learning Disabilities.
Whilst many of our Carers have backgrounds in professional care, we also recruit and train people from other backgrounds who have different skillsets and can add new perspective.

We whole heartedly believe that in order for our Carers to provide a truly special service, we need to look after their well-being. Therefore, our Carers are well rewarded so that they enjoy long, happy and successful careers at The Care Collection.
As The Care Collection is locally owned and managed we are able to provide hands on development, training and support to ensure that our Carers develop personally and have the necessary tools to deliver our fantastic collection of care services.
Bespoke Client – Carer relationships
Our Carers have a wide range of backgrounds, hobbies and interests, skills and experience as well as a wealth of local knowledge.
Prior to the start of the service a great deal of time is spent matching our Clients to our Carers and personal introductions are made to ensure that our Clients are happy and comfortable. This, together with our minimum 1 hour visits, allows our Clients form close and long-lasting personal relationships with our Carers.
Our Clients and Carers look forward to spending time with each other, exchanging life stories and creating new chapters together – in many cases our Carers are considered extended family allowing relatives of our Clients to feel confident with our service knowing their family member is happy, safe and cared for in their own home.

Catherine Haigh, Founder and Director of Care
I have over 22 years’ experience in Health and Social Care advocating and caring for the most vulnerable in society, both old and young, and I can genuinely say I loved every minute! My empathetic nature drives my desire to enable people to achieve fulfilling, independent lives whilst remaining in their own home.
I believe The Care Collection’s contemporary and responsive model of care will revolutionise the industry by moving away from reactive mainstream “care agency” stereotypes towards a highly developed, proactive approach to care delivery.
My role is to design, develop and nurture my team to deliver our outstanding collection of client focused, home care services. With quality at the heart of what we do, I work closely alongside charities, voluntary organisations and local business alike to cultivate relationships and engage with, and contribute to, the community.
I am incredibly proud to head up The Care Collection, a venture that benefits the whole community and makes a real difference to the lives of the people we support as well as providing exciting and rewarding career opportunities throughout West Yorkshire.
Chelsey Pickles, Care Manager
I have over 12 years’ experience in Health and Social Care. Whilst studying for my degree I worked as a care worker in the community. After graduating I worked as a Field Care Supervisor and then spent 5 years as Registered Manager of a private home care provider overseeing the running of the entire service and staff team.
I joined The Care Collection in January 2018. My role includes monitoring our service on a regular basis, ensuring it runs safely and effectively for our clients and complies with, and where possible exceeds, industry legislation. I also ensure that the care team receive appropriate training and any extra support and guidance they may need to provide excellent care resulting in a service that can be relied upon and known for its high standards.
I am looking forward to The Care Collection growing and flourishing with the innovative and creative team we have in place and changing people’s perceptions of care. We aim to exceed our clients’ expectations by developing a holistic, person centred approach to care delivery, focused on promoting independence for everyone.
Lynne Holmes, Deputy Care Manager
I have 22 years’ experience in Health and Social Care, mostly working with vulnerable elderly people both within care settings and in the community.
I have a vast amount of experience in all aspects of care from being a care assistant in the field, then progression into management. I have also been the Registered Manager of several care services, completing my CQF Level 5 in Leadership and Management in August 2014.
I am so pleased to have joined the team at the The Care Collection and I look forward to working alongside them and bringing a new perspective to managing the service in my own unique style, while upholding the values and ethos expected by all involved. I also look forward to working with staff and clients to support and maintain the high standards of care and compliance which already exist.
My role in The Care Collection as Deputy Manager will take various paths, but mainly I will be responsible for compliance and monitoring our service regularly, and ensuring we are excelling in all areas. Another area which is important in my role supporting the Manager with day to day activities, as well as supporting and nurturing our staff team, and continuing to build good, strong and open relationships with staff and clients alike.
I am so proud to be a part of such an innovative ,forward thinking, individual and positive company and look forward to taking our team forward and continuing to build on all the positivity and good name of the Company.
Kim Longstaff, Care Coordinator
I have over 10 years’ experience in Health and Social Care. I have worked in a number of different roles progressing from a Carer to a Senior Carer and on to a Team Leader before starting my current role.
I have worked with people of all ages, with a range of conditions. I have achieved a number of care qualifications and am currently working towards Level 5.
I joined The Care Collection in October 2018. I started as a Carer and was promoted to Care Coordinator in June 2019 – it was great to be recognised and given the opportunity to grow with the company. I am responsible for the effective scheduling of Client and Staff rotas. As part of this I regularly communicate with Clients and their families, as well as the staff team, to ensure the care meets the needs.
I am excited for the company to flourish and love working in such a creative and inspirational team. There are high expectations on the team to continue to deliver an award-winning home care service, promoting independence for the Clients.
